Effective management of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and Ground Service Equipment (GSE) is critical to the seamless operation of global air cargo – yet for many airlines and ground handling agents, this remains a persistent challenge, driving up costs, causing inefficiencies, and disrupting operations.
SwissTrakk offers a smarter, scaleable and low-cost solution by embedding cellular tracking technology directly into the ULD or the GSE asset and linking it to a secure, cloud-based multi-user platform, delivering real-time end-to-end visibility without the expensive and unreliable need of any reader network.
This technology redefines ULD and GSE tracking and inventory monitoring – replacing legacy systems with a modern, low-cost alternative that eliminates blind spots, streamlines custody transfers and restores controls.

Damage claims fail without evidence.
When a shipment arrives damaged, the dispute begins – from a dropped and broken cargo shipment, to temperature breaches for cold chain and perishable shipments determining the shipment not fit for purpose, to monitoring of asset damage to ULDs and GSE inventory count, to monitoring of interior cabin garments and equipment. Our timestamped and precise data reporting provides real-time evidence of where and when the incident occurred, that closes claims in hours instead of weeks.

Disposable trackers are a business model, not an engineering necessity.
The industry standard of single-use tracking devices was built to maximise supplier revenue, not for customer value. A Trakkard designed for multiple shipments drastically reduces cost per shipment whilst taking electronics out of the waste stream instead of feeding into it. Lowering cost of ownership and driving down individual shipment cost makes the Trakkard device sustainable by design.

Inventory management and stock control.
Every asset has a value, intrinsic and operational. The whereabouts of an asset is critical to operational efficiency and drives down unnecessary costs for both manpower in locating its whereabouts and additional replacement CapEx costs if it cannot be located. Airlines' GSE/ULDs, aircraft seat covers, in-cabin garments and equipment – an automated inventory turns hours of manpower into minutes and eliminates missing or misplaced item disputes.

The majority of current tracking devices rely heavily on fixed reader networks like RFID and Bluetooth. These technologies only provide data when the asset is within proximity to a reader.
As soon as the asset is out of the reader network range, which happens frequently, the location data is no longer live or reliable.
